If college sports are really going to be saved by Congress, well, it’s going to have to wait even longer. ESPN reported that the bill will not be voted on before the August recess. The report also states the bill has a slim chance of passing before the November elections. So this means it’s the status quo, and the NCAA still does not have antitrust protection, which means it could face a mountain of litigation.
The Big 10 and the SEC have voiced their opposition to the bill in its current form, and considering the power those two leagues have, that could be a good reason for the no vote.
