Football is officially back and Covino and Rich are already too fired up about it. The Hall of Fame game gave them two names to fight over: Haynes King went 21 for 34 for 219 and three scores including the walk-off, and Carson Beck went 15 for 19 for 188 with a touchdown and never looked rattled. Rich builds the case that Beck landed in the best situation of any quarterback taken this year. Jacoby Brissett is on a 15 million dollar filler deal, the Cardinals are projected to be near the bottom, Mike LaFleur’s offense fits what Beck does, and if Arizona starts 1-4 nobody is keeping that kid on the bench. They work the whole rookie board too: Fernando Mendoza and the Raiders o-line, Ty Simpson buried behind Stafford, Drew Allar maybe not even QB2 in Pittsburgh, and Cade Klubnik sitting behind Gino Smith on a Jets team Danny G says would have been relegated years ago.
