Covino and Rich cannot agree on whether the 49ers have too much going on to win anything this year. Rich says none of it reaches the locker room. Covino reads the list back to him: Jed York and the $140, Kyle Shanahan’s car accident and the self-driving excuse, Brandon Aiyuk, the electrical substation theory, five separate injuries in camp, and now a con man who took women for $1.3 million by claiming he was an injured Niner.
Then Rich turns around and makes a prediction he wants on the record. He walks the Seahawks schedule game by game and lands on the defending Super Bowl champions sitting under .500 after eight weeks. He asked us to clip it. So we clipped it.
Also on the show: the guys walk across the street to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch Raiders and 49ers with the crew, and end up watching it on Danny G’s phone while his wings go cold. Fernando Mendoza gets a fair review after the 18-12 loss at Allegiant. Nobody in Major League Baseball is hitting .320 anymore. Pete Alonso is quietly making the Mets front office look terrible in Baltimore. The Astros are 67-67 and in first place. And after a heavy week in pop culture, the guys say goodbye to the Pro Bowl and figure out what else needs to go.
Brainwave with Dax in Illinois, Weekend Hobnobbing, and the full weekend watch list.
