Covino & Rich: Aaron Donald Is Back And The Rams Schedule Is Brutal | August 31

Nine days from kickoff and DraftKings has the Rams sitting alone at the top of the contender tier list. Aaron Donald came out of retirement, Miles Garrett is on the roster, and Covino thinks the signing tells you everything about how serious this team is. Rich pulls up the schedule and finds a trap. Four of the first five are the 49ers in Australia, a short week in Denver, a trip to Philadelphia, and the Bills at home. The back end is Chiefs, Niners, Cowboys, Seahawks, Bucs, Seahawks. Danny G drops the number that should scare Rams fans, which is that preseason favorites priced at plus 550 or better have gone 0 for 20 over the last 30 years.
Dan Beyer is back in studio defending the champs, and the phones open on the question that runs every August. What have you talked yourself into believing about your team? Tim in Spokane makes a real case for the Vikings. Mario in Vegas convinces himself the Niners finally stay healthy. Rich goes the other way and puts a date on the calendar for when the Cardinals win their only game of the year.
Then baseball. Jazz Chisholm steals third with the Yankees up 7-1 in the eighth, Red Sox announcer Will Fleming calls it bush and says out loud that he would like to see Chisholm get drilled, Austin Wells homers on the next pitch, and by Monday Fleming is apologizing after nonstop calls and threats. CC Sabathia flipped him off on social. Josh Hart wanted him fired. Covino says the threats are insane but the bigger problem is the premise, because six runs in the eighth is not a white flag in a division race. Rich hates the apology more than the comment.
Plus Last One Standing returns with Dan Beyer going for career win number 50, and the AI fake NFL player scam gets a Dexter comparison nobody saw coming.
