CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The UNI football team beat Indiana State 45-23 on Halloween inside the UNI-Dome.

The Panthers stayed perfect at home this season with the win. UNI improved to 4-4 overall and 3-2 in Valley play.

The game was close through three quarters before UNI pulled away in the fourth. The Panthers led 17-9 at halftime after Christian Collins scored on a 15-yard run and Taj Hughes caught a 12-yard touchdown pass from Jaxon Dailey. Franz Reisz recovered a fumble as time expired in the half to keep Indiana State from scoring.

UNI’s defense forced a missed field goal early in the third quarter. Dailey then connected with Brady McCullough on a 62-yard pass to set up Xavier Terrell’s nine-yard touchdown run.

The Panthers scored three times in the fourth quarter to put the game away. Collins rushed for a 30-yard touchdown on fourth down to make it 31-16. Terrell added a 38-yard scoring run, and Calvin Jaworski returned an interception 60 yards for a touchdown.

The ground game was dominant for the Panthers, recording 198 yards rushing.

Collins finished with a career-high 107 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Terrell added 103 yards and two scores. It marked the first time two UNI running backs each rushed for more than 100 yards since Tye Edwards and Amauri Pesek-Hickson did it against Valparaiso in 2024.

Dailey completed 12 passes for 198 yards and a touchdown. Hughes caught four passes for 59 yards and a score.

Braden McShane led the defense with a career-high 17 total tackles and a sack. Kolben Miller added 10 tackles.

UNI extended its winning streak against Indiana State in Cedar Falls to 17 games. The Panthers are 4-0 at home this season for the first time since 2019, when they went 7-0 in the UNI-Dome.

UNI hosts South Dakota State on Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. The game will air on ESPN+.
